There is no actual medical test for anorexia. This is why many professionals use the SCOFF screen, which asks the following questions:
- 1. Do you make yourself sick because you feel uncomfortably full?
- 2. Do you worry you have lost control over how much you eat?
- 3. Have you recently lost more than 15 pounds in a three-month period?
- 4. Do you believe yourself to be fat when others say you are too thin?
- 5. Would you say that food dominates your life?
A “yes” answer to two or more of these questions indicates an eating disorder may be present.
If a parent suspects that a child has anorexia, simple observation is important. If an adolescent is losing a great deal of weight, or a young child is failing to gain weight at an expected rate, something is probably wrong, especially if she has body image issues or possesses a genuine fear of gaining weight.
It is also important to detect changes in diet and eating habits. This extends to breakfast, snacks, and most importantly, dinner. Most parents already know how key it is for a family to share dinner together, simply as a bonding or catching-up time with one another. Dinnertime is also an opportunity to watch a child eat. This means that the parent needs to actually see the food being consumed. A common anorexia behavior is the ability to not eat, while all the time making others think the opposite. A standard technique is to slip food to the family pet, or hide it in a napkin, to be thrown away later. Often, food is pushed around on the plate, to make it appear as though there is less of it at the end of the meal.
If a child is underweight and continues to lose weight, it’s time to see a primary care provider for help.

5'4 and 120lbs seems to be great shape to me. I dont see how her self image issue could bring down your sex from every other day to twice a month! I think you need to sit down and talk to her about this situation and let her know it is really bothering you. Ask her to tell you the absolute truth! See if something else is going on. My girlfriend and I had the same thing happen to us, but in this situation, it was me that had the problem. It turned out that my testosterone was pretty much in the dumps and that is why i only wanted to have sex about 3 times a month. I finally got help from a natural medical doctor who prescribed my testosterone cream. My sex drive drive is much much better and it has only been 3 weeks.
You have been with this girl 3 years so I dont think you should have a problem having a heart to heart talk to her. You two need to figure out what is going on, whether it is psychological or medical. Sex is an important part of a young relationship.
I highly doubt the issue is with you. And i doubt that she may be getting some from the side as some might say. Just talk to her and find out.
I believe that makes you the 1,000,001th person to say this. Unfortunately, your post is not going to change much. Nobody will search for it, before posting their questions…and even those who know all of this will still post, looking for the opinions of a bunch of random strangers.
Your idea of Indian healthcare is mostly true. In fact, the procedure is usually cheaper ,but OP went to one of the more expensive hospitals. The cost do in fact reflects the real price of procedure, as I can ascertain from my friends studying medical. What completely defy logic in US healthcare is cost of medical test like MRI, CT-Scans, etc. The machines cost same everywhere, because there are a handful of manufacturers (most machines in India are imported), yet the charges are 50 times the normal rates. If I remember correctly, there was a post in /r/frugal sometime back related to a “normal priced” radiolab, one that was supposedly not related to a insurance company. If anything, merely testing should not cost astronomically. The more I think about it, even banning all insurance might make your healthcare significantly cheaper.
You can !!!!!!!!! A company is 3 night trips around the earth for 4.3 million dollars. It is called the Galactic Space Resort. This is a real company and they are building a resort in space that you can stay in for 3 days. You will make about 27 trips around the world during your stay. You have to undergo a medical test to see if you can take it. As I said this is a real company for you. Later you can go to the moon I think. love, dad

If the influences of advertising media on the body image were to be considered in light of the feminist theory, then (Rivers, 2008) elaboration of women in media stands out when he refers to women with regard to how the news media manipulates their anxieties. Women are placed in a constant state of….
I wish we could test people before they can own a dog or have a child. Launi hit the nail on the head with the poopy diaper. Why would anyone ever leave a child unattended with a dog. Poor baby and poor dogs, they are the victims here. This poor child will suffer for his parents stupidity for life and the dogs will lose their life because of it. I have two Pit mixes and a 2 year old daughter, they are never left alone together. I will not leave her alone with any type of dog, no matter the size or breed. She plays with our dogs every day and I am always with them. I keep a close watch on my dogs when they interact with any child, if I see them getting stressed I remove them so they can go relax. They have lots of patience with my Daughter but do get stressed if we have other kids here. They have never been aggressive towards a person and I plan on keeping it that way.
The Teacup thing was funny, sorry you got suspended for that.
I do not consider that ASD can be overdiagnosed, broadening in criteria seems a fact, but this is not a condition to overdiagnose if the DSMIV is used properly as a tool.
In the absence of an objective medical test for autism, the boundary for the disorder does not exist. It can expand endlessly. There's nothing to stop psychiatrists from saying, for example, that the bottom 5% of the population in socio-linguistic skills are brain disordered. With ADHD it's already the top 10% in hypoattentiveness and hyperactivity.]]>
