Why is there more focus more on obesity than anorexia or bulemia?

some people say its teh other way around but there has once or twice ive seen something on anorexia or bulemia on tv. and a countless number of times on the news they talked about obesity and recorded peoples stomachs as they walk by which is embarassing. i would be pissed off. and alot of people say ist not the persons fault there anorexic or bulemic. well that can be the case w/ obesity too. i used to be overweight and it was b/c i had pneumonia and the medication made me gain alot of weight.
and then they have all the weight loss shows, which are good dont get me wrong. but then they have the shows like americas next top model that encourage people to be stick thin. and just b/c a girl isnt a stick shes considered plus size even though shes average.(i was so happy when a the plus size model finally won).
they need to make a show about anorexics and tell them to get over it your not fat…but maybe im being too harsh. b/c i know its not really theyre fault its a psychological reason.
mabye what really annoys me are the average girls who think theyre fat even though theyre fine, like a lot of my friends say theyre so fat. i wish i had a body like them. i feel like saying yeah you are you fat cow, but i would never say that to anyone. they might not take it as a joke.
ahh i just had to rant about something that happened. my friend wouldnt eat anything lastnight and wouldnt wear a swimsuit in the hottub. sometimes it worries me that it might lead to an eating disorder. what do you think??
haha srry i kinda went off topic. i just had to rant.
thanks if you read the whole thing :]

Because Obesity is a choice (In most cases) where as anorexia and bulimia are diseases and affect fewer people.

It’s a lot more complicated with anorexics than a psychological problem. It is self loathing and self hate. There have been very few successful programs to treat anorexics. The only program I have heard of that has great success is somewhere in canada, run by a woman who lost her daughter to anorexia.
Obesity causes a lot of health problems. The obese person can become a burden on society. They start to develop joint problems, diabetes, heart problems, breathing problems etc. Some obese become disabled and wind up on medicaid or medicare. Being obese is also a lot more obvious than someone who is anorexic.

I think you see more about obesity simply because it is more common and widespread than bulimia or anorexia.
