What would you call the job that you would specialize in eating disorders?

im looking for a coarse to do in collage that lets me work with eating disorders. please help!
Yeah i want to help people.

it depends on how you want to help them. If you become a registered nurse, you can work in places like rehabs, hospitals or clinics for those with Ed's. You can alternatively become a counselor and work in similar clinics as well. Becoming a psychologist would let you work in hospitals and clinics too but you would be more certified for interventions or crisis situations. Finally, being a psychiatrist is basically the same thing as a psychologist, however you have a medical degree as well so you would be able to prescribe medication to your patients. This is a nice choice too, but requires many years of university to get your medical degree. hope this helps!

You would have to do more than to take a course. You would have to do a major program of study that could last from anywhere from 2 years to 10+ years. You could enroll in a program to become a nurse, dietitian, nutritionist, social worker, counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist. If you went to a facility that does inpatient treatment for eating disorders then you most likely could get a job as a mental health tech with nothing more than a high school diploma.

You can become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist in Nutrition." A CEDSN is certified on the basis of coursework, client hours, an examination, and more. An applicant must be a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association.

Individuals with the Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS or CEDSN) certifications are health care professionals who have met rigorous educational requirements, have accumulated a minimum number of hours of qualifying work experience, have successfully passed a written examination covering the eating disorders field, have made a commitment to stay abreast of current developments in the field through Continuing Education, and have agreed to comply with the Association's Ethical Principles.Search
