Anorexia treatment (i finally saw a doctor). Sorry 2nd time?

Sorry to ask twice, but i want a lot of answers. =]

I’m anorexic, & i saw a doctor for the first time last thursday. My illness isn’t severe, i’m not a dangerous weight, but i do need some help.
My doctor found that my BMI was 19, the lowest ‘healthy’ weight. She wasn’t concerned about my size yet, but she wanted to monitor me & said i shouldn’t drop any weight.

However, my doctor doesn’t know that:
- I’ve missed 9 periods since i reached my current weight (49kg, i’m 5ft 2.5).
I missed 2 periods once before when i’d got down to this weight, but i gained weight back up-to about 53kg and my periods started again.
Basically, i stop menstruating once i reach my current weight.
My periods used to be regular, almost to the day.

- My body has stopped developing; i’m 15, my boobs haven’t grown since i was 10/11 when i first got them. I’ve also lost all the fat from my butt/hips which i’d started to get when i was around 12.

Would my doctor have been concerned about my weight if she had known those things?
I know i should have told her, but i was nervous. I should be seeing a nutritionist within the next month or so – should i tell her? Or should i wait until i see my doctor again, in 2 or 3 months?

Thanks, help much appreciated. =D
When i said i was a healthy weight according to BMI, i was worried that i wasn’t a healthy weight for myself personally… Surely if being this weight makes my periods stop and i feel cold easily, it isn’t a healthy weight for me at all? Because i’m pear shaped, it also means my torso is really thin and my waist is 22 inches, and i don’t think it’s healthy at that size. I think i’m underweight for myself personally with my body shape.

You’re probably ashamed to be honest and up front w/ her right now. You shouldn’t be, she’s heard it all before. You can take your time, though, especially since you have another appointment with her coming up.

All the things you’ve described are things to be concerned about. You need fat on your butt and hips, among other places on your body, to warm your torso and to add comfort for you in case you become pregnant. That’s why women store more fat than men, but it isn’t unhealthy that that happens. The fact that you used to have this fat and don’t any more is cause for concern because your doctor is assuming you just stunted your development. Once you begin to gain weight back, though, your period will be normal again and your reproductive system will get the necessary natural protection that it needs. Your breasts might even gain a cup size too if you’ve been doing this to yourself since you were 12.

When you see a doctor for treatment, it is soooo important that you are completely honest about your symptoms, concerns, etc. Lying or withholding information is only going to delay you getting the proper treament.

So the question you really need to ask yourself is WHY did you not tell the dr these things? Yes I’m almost positive that the dr will have been concerned. if you are still a "healthy" weight then you wouldn’t be missing periods like that unless you have another medical problem brewing. Nervousness is not an excuse. if you have enough smarts to GO to the dr for this you should have told her everything you knew about it all. i think you should CALL the dr and let her know everything you know and tell her you were too nervous to tell her the first time and see when she wants you to go back in. I hope you start getting better but PLEASE ask the dr ANY questions you may have and tell her all your symptoms.
