TEEN TRUTH: BODY IMAGE Trailer

Regardless of how closely their actual figure resembles their perception, teenagers’ body image can affect their self-esteem, eating and exercise habits, relationships with others and ultimately their health. Using the series’ signature student-shot style, TEEN TRUTH: BODY IMAGE presents real youths, parents, physicians, physiologists, and an entertainment professional discussing how celebrity, media, sports and peer influences can shape one’s body image and ultimately lead to dangerous habits. Teasing and exclusion led Emily to develop an eating disorder and Kayla to binge eat her way to obesity; while Nolan’s desire to be bigger, stronger and faster ended in health hazards due to performance enhancing drug use. In the end, this affecting film challenges viewers to think differently about how they see their body image and the body images of others, and ultimately empowers them to find true strength and beauty from within. TEEN TRUTH: BODY IMAGE is funded in part by: The Efrain Anthony Marrero Foundation – Vacaville, California Hopewell Eating Disorder Support Center – Ottawa, Canada The Kristen Watt Foundation – Stockton, California The Taylor Hooton Foundation – Plano, Texas Proceeds from this film will go to help these non-profit organizations in their fight against eating disorders and steroid abuse.

Great video! I had this problem as a teen and it developed into an eating disorder that almost killed me. I am now and author (book title: A Future for Tomorrow) and public speaker. Thanks for making videos like this. I would love to share my web site and trailer with you. Search on here under A Future for Tomorrow Surviving Anorexia and it should pull up my book’s trailer and an interview I did. afuturefortomorrow. com

@oreowithmilk1 Hey have you seen the film? It talks about all this stuff. You might really like to watch it. It will probably change your view on drug abuse. unfortunately many people get lost in the abuse and hide the true issues that they are working so hard to mask.

  4. oreowithmilk1 Says:

@teentruthlive Well, If they would actually use it as a gateway drug, then they need to seek medical attention. If they are so oblivious to the fact they have heard so much about how chemical drugs(meth cocaine etc) is so bad for you, then have a mind WEAK enough to actually do it, then they deserve there lives to be ruined. if they are so oblivious to there own health and life, then they can forget my sympathy.

@oreowithmilk1 Thank you for your comment, we appreciate any and all feedback. We have found by interviewing over 15 diverse addicts that have ruined
their lives through drug use that MARIJUANA was the GATEWAY drug.
Every addict that we have spoken to started smoking pot and this use lead to every other drug. The truth is that any illicit drug abuse can be dangerous.”

Teen Truth Live. I agree with this program, and what its trying to do. But, one thing i still believe is stupid in these programs is the thing on drugs. Yah sure, meth heroin cocaine, all that is useless. But instead of bashing those things, you bash on marijuana the most. Why? Marijuana has been proved to have many medical benefits, and all those other things have been known to cause death. how many people have ever died on marijuana? none. lets focus on the real troubles, meth heroin etc.

i had a friend who was really cool start doing steroids at the age of 13 and he became, aggressive, he started trash talking about every body, and if somebody tried to stand up for themselves, he would just beat them up. he ended up having no friends at the end of 8th grade, and eventually, somebody socked him in the mouth and shattered his jaw and knocked out his teeth. i think he deserved it, but ever since then, people teas him. its hard to think he used to actually be a good friend…
