omg i just started lexapro on monday and im really annoyed cuz i really drink and nw im scared something will happen if i do drink.. grr! my weekends will nvr be the same! Gr8 drug tho ha!
So i took my Lexapro and decided to wait an hour before i started drinking. After one and a half beers I was heavily buzzed… I think I’m done w/ drinking while on this med. I just turned 21 not too long ago =(
im 16 and im taking lexapro. its fine with me. i take one half tab before bedtime. and it helps. ask your doc if she’s getting the right dosage. i used to take one half of 100 mg seroquel and i felt like a bastard,i told my shrink and she decreased the dosage to 26 mg. and im feeling fine now. discuss some of those bad feeling matters to your doc, so that she can decrease the dosage or change the meds. its necessary if lexapro isnt working well
My girlfriend, who was given Lexapro and she’s only 15…, was REALLY messed-up after taking it. From what I’ve read, Lexapro is not even approved for people under 18; is this correct? Well, at any rate, their doctor told her that she would be fine because “she’s fully grown and full developed.”
Alright, to me, this makes no sense; your brain matures — YOU mature — a lot more from 15-18. Whatever, she still got REALLY sick from it
How serious is taking Lexapro with drinking alcohol? I only just started but im a social drinker mainly on the weekends. But i take one pill in the morning, but i drink at night 8pm-1am or so only on weekends. is there anything serious i should know?
Probably the effects of oversleep or staying up late or something. I would not take anything on days like that and skip until the next dose. I am just speaking from experience with other similar meds though because I had a really hard time being productive over the weekend especially if I worked Friday night and had to come in Sat morn (I had 6 hrs to drive home an hour away and come back the next morning ugh). I would take my meds but feel really screwed up at work.
If I wake up late (12pm), should I still take my lexapro. The reason I ask is because I took it at that time and I was tired all day. I take it every morning.
I took Lexapro for 8 mnths nit helped SO much! I didnt have probs at 1st, everything was great after a month, I had my life back and my family started liking me again! Due to cost, I stopped cold turkey, 2 weeks after stopping…MAJOR headaches, dizziness, nausea, withdrawls BAD! Now Im on Celexa..$4 @ Wmart…hopefully it does as well as Lexapro did for me! have to wait a few wks to see though! If you get on Lexapro n it works for you…DONT STOP IT!!!!!!
I wouldn’t say it is addictive but there will probably by withdrawal effects when you decide to stop taking it. You may also get some effects when you first start taking it that usually go away after a couple days.
I highly doubt any permanent affects. I depends on the person as far as the withdrawal symptoms, if any, or if you have to wean yourself off. Check with your doctor and follow his/her advice. Just say you do not want to take the medication any more.
can it have permanent affects on your brain after after two and a half weeks, and is it appropriate to quit cold turkey after two and a half weeks, or do you have to ween yourself off of that too?
It really depends on the person. I have found in practice that the people who don’t feel much of a difference on the medication have the easiest time coming off. Those who say they are having a lot of side effects have the hardest time. I wish there was a better answer but that’s about it.
Everything he says is true, but there is a very real possibility of all of the SSRI anti-depressants doing things to your mind and body that go far beyond the reaches of medical science. Its dangerous stuff, but God bless those that are able to come off okay.

I quit taking it 3 days ago and it feels like my brain is spinning around in my skull
I would quit drinking all together. it makes you damn near unconscious after a few beers.
Hello, please talk about cymbalta and cellexa.

Lexapro turned me into a monster.I haven’t had a good REM sleep in over 2 months.Vivid dreams are getting to me.
