This is an idea I literally JUST had, and I think I mentioned most the things which I perceive as traits common to ED sufferers. I hope you’re all doing OK. I’m having a few motivation issues at the moment regarding revision, but I’m going to the library tomorrow and will hopefully get a lot done. Regardless of how closely their actual figure resembles their perception, teenagers’ body image can affect their self-esteem, eating and exercise habits, relationships with others and ultimately their health. Using the series’ signature student-shot style, TEEN TRUTH: BODY IMAGE presents real youths, parents, physicians, physiologists, and an entertainment professional discussing how celebrity, media, sports and peer influences can shape one’s body image and ultimately lead to dangerous habits. Teasing and exclusion led Emily to develop an eating disorder and Kayla to binge eat her way to obesity; while Nolan’s desire to be bigger, stronger and faster ended in health hazards due to performance enhancing drug use. In the end, this affecting film challenges viewers to think differently about how they see their body image and the body images of others, and ultimately empowers them to find true strength and beauty from within. Uma pessoa anoréxica pode ser também bulímica. Definição clínica Peso corporal em 85% ou menos do nível normal. Prática excessiva de atividade físicas. Medo intenso e irracional de ganhar peso ou de ser gordo, mesmo tendo um peso abaixo do normal. Comumente, anoréxicos vêem peso onde não existe, ou seja, o anoréxico pensa que tem um peso acima do normal. Negação quando questionado sobre o transtorno. Em pessoas do sexo feminino, ausência de ao menos três ou mais menstruações. A anorexia nervosa pode causar sérios danos ao sistema reprodutor feminino. Outros sintomas e perigos incluem: Bulimia nervosa, que pode desenvolver-se posteriomente em pessoas anoréxicas. Danos intestinais, quando o anoréxico faz uso excessivo de laxativos. Danos ao rim, quando o anoréxico faz uso excessivo de diuréticos. Anemia, devido ao baixo nível de ferro. Osteoporose, devido ao baixo nível de cálcio, ou à deficiência do intestino em absorvê-lo.
